Hotel management appeared very comfortable with the fact that we had two large dogs with us.
The owners and staff are always very friendly and keen to please. Callander is a delightfull Scottish town and an ideal base for exploring the Trossachs and beyond.
This is an observation and not a complaint but room 3 is very small.
Very good food and nice furnishings particularly in the new bar area and dining room.
The booking in area/office could be slightly improved
ppy atmosphere in the hotel. All meals were excellent also presentation.
Good size, comfortable family room. Breakfast good. Pleasant staff.
Bedroom furnishings and decor a bit tired and shower dodgy. Food overpriced unless eating before 7pm.
room was a good size. bathroom well done with an excellent shower and bath.breakfast was really good with a good choice of cold buffet items and a delicious cooked selection. extra tea/coffee and toast being constantly offered.our second trip to poppies 4 nights, previously stayed one night.john and susan and thier staff could not be any more helpful.set in a beautiful part of the country.what more could you ask for.
pillows not brilliant
It was a convenient location for us and we found the hotel, staff and food very good indeed. We will be returning.
The pepper pot squeaked!
We had an excellent meal in the dining room and the bedroom was beautiful. The owners were very nice and we really enjoyed our stay and will return in the near future.
Central location with lovely country surroundings. Comfortable clean room with a tasty full english breakfast in a lovely dining room.
We arrived early but our room was ready so we settled in. The room was very large and beautifully decorated with quality furnishings. The staff were great and the food for the evening meal exceptional. Public rooms all of a very high standard.
Our bedroom was such good quality the bathroom was a real shock. Old suite, mould above the tiles and ill-fitting lino and bath panel but was clean. The bathroom was quite large and there was only a towel rail to provide heat so before the bathroom was used we had to leave the bathroom door open to transfer the heat from the bedroom. Lots of hot water but poor pressure a shower pump may have helped.
The wonderful, imaginative and delicious food. We return again and again. The welcome. The cleanliness.
Our third stay here in one of our favourite hotels disappointed us: the room had been spoiled by having the shower-room cut out of it. It was too small. The shower-room was terribly small and the door worse.I would advise friends to avoid this room.
lovely food, comfortable rooms and friendly, professional staff
Pleasant staff, helpful when looking for local transport information etc. Nice breakfast.
No bath in the room, only a shower. TV very small in the room, with only four channels.
Quiet location but close to town centre. Breakfast was very good in nice surroundings. Attractive front garden and bar/lounge area. All the staff were friendly and gave good service. Superior room large and attractive.
Standard room for first night was diaappointing for price with very tiny en-suite "cupboard". Dinner quite expensive unless eating early- bird menu. Would only recommend if prepared to pay for superior room
Both the owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly, have stayed at Poppies for many years and have always looked forward to my return visits
